Ng U Tong 吳宇彤

Ng U Tong studied in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts(HKAPA) with Mr. Leung Kin Fung, the First Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Mr. Ivan Chan, who was the first violinist of Miami String Quartet and now he is the Associate Professor in HKAPA. Ng got her Bachelor of Music( Honors) Degree in 2013. During her study period, U Tong was awarded the scholarships of Macau Foundation, Instituto Cultural and DSEJ. She got her Master of Music degree in the same school in 2016. U Tong is a member of the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, Ng became a member of the Macau Virtuosi and participated in recording the first album ‘Dancing String’. She also performed in the completed Mozart concertos program with the team and was one of the soloists in the performance. She  performed as a soloist with MYSO quite often and has also held several solo recitals with the help of the MYSO. 
 
U Tong has participated in several music festivals,  including the NJO summer festival( Dutch Orchestra and a Ensemble Academy), the Kent Blossom Music Festival and the Bowdoin Music Festival in US, and the first Youth Music Culture Guangdong. She was coached by theMiami String Quartet, Peter Otto, Robert Vernon, the Jupiter String Quartet, the Ying String Quartat, the Endellion String Quartet, Renee Jolles, Yoyo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Pamela Franck,Cornelia Heard, Hsin Yun Huang and the Silk Road ensemble. She has also performed with some famous musicians, such as Trevor Pinnock, Edo de Wart, Jaap van Sweden, Yoyo Ma etc. Ng performs on stage as a soloist in Macau often. Besides that, she is also very active as a chamber and orchestral musician. In 2015, she was invited by the famous Macau-born musician, Mr. Lio Kuok Man, to play in a chamber music concert with him, the principles of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and local musicians. Last year, she joined the concert tour of Hong Kong Episodes and performed in the cities of mainland China, London and Taipei. Now She is a guest violinist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macau Orchestra and the Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra, and a faculty member of the Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra.
